By streamlining the application deployment process, Entgra UEM enables you to maintain a well-organized and up-to-date corporate app store, boosting the overall efficiency of your enterprise device management.

  • Gaining comprehensive visibility and tracking over all available updates

Consider a scenario where your company has a large remote workforce spread across various locations. Your IT team faces the challenge of keeping all employees’ Windows devices up-to-date without disrupting their work. With Entgra UEM 6.2, you can monitor which updates are pending or installed across all remote devices, identifying any that may require immediate attention.

  • Ensuring browser security

Effective web browser management is crucial for ensuring security, productivity, and compliance in a corporate setting. Entgra UEM 6.2 now offers advanced management features specifically designed for Microsoft Edge.

Android device management

  • Restricting Wi-Fi access to trusted networks

Organizations with employees working from offices, remote locations, and public spaces face the challenge of ensuring that all devices connect only to secure and trusted Wi-Fi networks. Learn More About These Updates

Microsoft Store integration for easier app deployment

One of the highlights of this release is the integration of Entgra UEM with the Microsoft Store, which significantly simplifies application deployment across your Windows devices. With this integration, you can seamlessly browse the Microsoft Store for applications directly from the Entgra App Publisher.

For instance, if your team needs a new communication tool like Microsoft Teams, you can quickly browse the Microsoft Store, select it, and publish it through the Entgra App Publisher. The application is then added to your app list, synchronized with the Entgra App Publisher, and ready for deployment to all remote employees. Before deploying a new application, you can view its details, reviews, and ratings directly in the Microsoft Store with a single click. Additionally, by hovering over the application name in the Entgra App Publisher, you can see further details to quickly verify that the application meets your requirements. This integration ensures a smooth and efficient management of free applications using the Windows Package Manager.

Windows Update Management for applying continuous security updates

The “Windows Updates” feature in Entgra UEM 6.2 offers a comprehensive interface for a clear,  detailed view of the Windows updates available and installed on your managed devices using the WUA API. • Efficient monitoring: Easily track the status of updates across all your managed devices. This visibility helps you to identify devices needing attention or missing critical updates, ensuring timely compliance.
  • Streamlined management: This feature makes managing Windows updates simpler. You can see available updates in real-time and make sure they are applied promptly, reducing the risk of security issues and system problems.
  • Enhanced control: With detailed update information at your fingertips, your IT team can prioritize and schedule updates based on your enterprise needs. This minimizes disruptions and maintains smooth operations.

Improved compliance: Keeping all devices consistently updated with the latest patches and security fixes helps you meet compliance requirements and avoid potential regulatory issues.

Advanced Microsoft Edge management for flexible, secure browsing

Entgra UEM 6.2 introduces advanced browser management support, specifically for Microsoft Edge. This new feature facilitates implementing browser restrictions and configuring how Microsoft Edge runs within your enterprise, ensuring a consistent and secure browsing experience for all users.

With Entgra UEM, you can use the ADMX Edge policy feature to set up various Microsoft Edge settings on Windows devices. These policies can also be configured via the registry, giving you flexibility in how you manage browser settings.

Using this advanced browser management support, your IT team can:

  • Block access to specific categories of websites, such as social media, streaming services, and online shopping. Employees focus on work-related tasks during office hours.
  • Control the types of web content that can be displayed on browsers, such as blocking pop-ups and preventing automatic downloads.  Reduce interruptions during work and minimize the risk of installing malware or unwanted software.
  • Block access to known dangerous websites and prevent potentially harmful downloads. This extra layer of protection filters out threats and safeguards users from malicious content.
  • Manage browser extensions by allowing only those that your enterprise approves. Employees cannot install unauthorized or potentially harmful extensions, maintaining a secure and efficient browsing environment.
  • Set up Kiosk Mode to transform devices into dedicated kiosks that only enable access to specific applications or websites. This is ideal for public-facing terminals or devices used for particular purposes, ensuring that users cannot access unrelated content.
  • Control how passwords are managed by specifying settings for password saving and usage.  Ensure passwords are securely stored and prevent the browser from saving credentials inappropriately.
  • Improve browser performance by adjusting settings related to speed and resource usage.  The browser will run efficiently, even when handling demanding tasks or running multiple applications simultaneously.

Redesigned Entgra Windows Agent for certificate-based authentication

We have redesigned the Entgra Windows Agent to include enhanced features for managing security and digital certificates, specifically one-time password (OTP) and Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) enrollment.

  • One-Time Password (OTP) support: Entgra Windows Agent now includes OTP functionality. You’ll benefit from an additional layer of security for user authentication. Each login attempt will require a time-sensitive, unique code, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access and boosting your overall system security.

Straightforward Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) enrollment: We’ve added support for SCEP to simplify your digital certificate management. SCEP automates the enrollment and renewal of certificates, resulting in less administrative overhead for you.

Wi-Fi Restriction Policy for securing networks

This new feature provides you with enhanced control over network access, ensuring that your devices stay connected only to trusted and secure Wi-Fi networks.

A Wi-Fi Allow List (whitelist) is a list of Wi-Fi networks that you explicitly approve for your devices to connect to. This means that only the networks you have included in this list are accessible to your devices. For example, if you have Wi-Fi networks at different locations, such as your office, home, and a trusted partner’s office, you can add these to the Allow List.  Your devices will automatically connect to these approved networks only, ensuring they always connect to safe and trusted connections. However, if a device tries to connect to a different network, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot at a café, it won’t be able to connect unless that network is a part of the Allow List.

A Wi-Fi Block List (denylist) is a tool that lets you specify which Wi-Fi networks your devices are not allowed to connect to, effectively blocking access to these networks. This is especially useful for preventing connections to networks that might be risky or insecure. For example, you can use the Block List to restrict access to all public Wi-Fi networks that are outside of your control, thereby avoiding connections that could expose your data to potential threats. If there’s a public Wi-Fi network at a conference that you want to avoid, you can add this network to the Block List. As a result, your devices will automatically avoid connecting to this network, helping to safeguard your data from potential threats and maintain a secure network environment.

Screen Usage Violation Policy for fostering a healthier approach to device use

The Screen Usage Violation Policy is an enhancement to the App Usage Configuration Policy. It gives you the ability to create and enforce rules over individual app usage duration by employees on their Android devices.  By setting limits to manage app screen time,  you can prevent excessive time spent on non-essential apps.

Key benefits:

  • Boost productivity: By setting limits on non-work-related apps, such as social media or gaming, you help minimize distractions and ensure employees stay focused on their core responsibilities. Restricting access to social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram for 30 minutes per day during work hours ensures that employees remain engaged with their work tasks.
  • Enforce company policies: The policy helps enforce enterprise guidelines regarding app usage. If your company has specific rules about acceptable app use, this feature ensures consistent application of these rules across all devices.
  • Improve time management: Encouraging employees to manage their screen time more effectively promotes a better balance between work and personal activities. Permitting personal app use only during designated breaks helps employees to manage their time better..
  • Promote healthier habits: Managing screen time fosters healthier technology use habits among employees. Limiting excessive usage of gaming apps during breaks can lead to reduced screen fatigue and a more balanced approach to technology, contributing to overall well-being.

Kiosk Mode enhancements for customizable notification panel access

When devices are set to kiosk mode, they are restricted to a single app or a set of specific functions. With the new option to enable or disable the notification panel, you can decide whether users can access notifications while in this restricted mode. This level of control enables you to fine-tune the user experience based on the device’s intended use. By disabling the notification panel, you ensure that users cannot access notifications that might distract or interfere with the primary function of the kiosk. This is particularly useful in public or high-security environments where maintaining focus is crucial.

Real-time app update tracking and visibility for granular insights

We have introduced the Application Subscription Details View for both Android and Windows devices. This is a dedicated interface that provides a comprehensive overview of application updates across your enterprise.

Key benefits:

  • Comprehensive overview: The dedicated interface lets you track the status of application installations and uninstallations in real time. You can view detailed breakdowns by devices, groups, roles, and users, ensuring a complete picture of how updates are being applied throughout your enterprise.
  • Enhanced visibility: Gain clearer insights into installation statuses with detailed reports that show the progress of updates. This feature provides percentage reports on installation and uninstallation progress, making it easier to monitor the status and ensure updates are consistently and successfully rolled out.
